Since this single massive 22" Subwoofer has pulled about every/any want to be car audio enthusiast out of the wood work I figured this post is well deserved.

Thats the page for the T/S Specs on the sub.

Anyhow this sub is not the end all be all you may think it is. First off not many people can even come close to affording this sub. Secondly you will be even moreso hard pressed to provide the sub with proper clean power. Lastly your cars electrical system...

This sub is merely an advertisement tool.

Yeah you have seen the Pimp My Ride Show... You go into the dealer and ask about the Jack Hammer, and thats what you call it. Then you find out how much that 22" bastard costs. Then the sales man keenly says "Hey we got these 10, 12 and 15" Jack hammer Subs!" Yeah that 15" Jack hammer is ONLY 7" smaller than the 22" beast."

What is the Jack hammer series? Its the middle of the road series they offer. Not their best comp subs but not the worst either. They are affordable, cost wise and power wise.

Do they live up to the 22" Beasts name? While the shear size is impressive, the 130 dB score is totally not... With that being said, I think the 22" Jack Hammer needs to worry about itself... Thus leaving the Jack hammer Series to fend for itself...

JackHammers are shipped in either the SPL mode, with dual 2Ω voice coils, or as the SQL model with dual 4Ω voice coils.

Say what? Since when did Ohm loads Represent SQ or SPL applications? Thats some serious misinformation!

130 dbs can be had buy just about every other mtx sub out along with 90% of the other brands subs. for that price tag and the price tag on the amps/wireing/batteries/alternators/ect you could drive a denali and maybe even put some rims on it with a very cheap sub like a elevation audio comp 10 with 200 watts in a good box and it will be as loud as the jackhammer and sound alot better and also you wouldnt have to drive some pos because you spent all your money on your subs.

if you have come here looking for audio information and need to be steered in the right direction you have come to the right place. dont be shy and just remember there isnt a stupid question just stupid subs (jackhammer)
