Im planning to replace the stock stereo in a 98 camry. Just read the rear-fill faq thread.
A little hazy on the last paragraph, is it better to have just a 3way setup (tweeter and mid up front and sub in back) or a 4way setup (tweeter and mid up front, midbass in stock rear location, and sub in back/trunk)? Or is that only if you feel like burning money?

Most people are happy with components up front, sub in the trunk, and nothing in the rear deck. It seems to be best for imaging anyways. That is how I do it, and how I always will do it.

It does make things a lot easier and cheaper. The later being high priority to me. I dont know why but it feels natural to want to put something in that rear stock location =)

for me it depends on the size of the car. cars with big interiors i would consider rear fill but for small cars or trucks its out of the question.

well I am in a 4door. Not an escalade or anything.
Think putting some midbass 6x9s or 6.5s would be worth it? I dont really see how it would

IMO no, it isn't worth the extra money, or time. Unless I am doing 5.1 suround and a DVD player, I will always stick to front components, and a sub or two, nothing more.
