q series RMS?

hello all. i just purchased a JL 450/4, and i was wondering if the 150W in the front is too much for the MBquartQ's. they are the 216Qs, the 6.5 ones, and the max power on them is like... 160. thats peak though isnt it? so is 150 RMS too high? i just dont want to ruin such expensive speakers... thank you.

Yep, I definetely would pass on that. That's too much power for those speakers.

we ran 180 per channel to a set for over two years and then pulled them out to sell the vehicle. the speakers are still sitting on the bench at work and are perfect.

sounds good... also a buddy of mine ran the JL 300/2 to a set of MB Premiums... and those were fine... im excited.

a lot of it will depend on attention to setting the gain on the amp, and how you treat the speakers and volume knob.
remember 150/channel is at full output. normal listening levels are much less than that.. probably more like 20 watts/channel realistically..

well said sir. basically if it sounds like fecal matter you MAY be overdriving the speaker....

Or it's just an Audiobahn :) . Hehe I just saw one of the pictures of their show cars online, they had the mids in the door inverted to show off the chrome flames on the back.

you have to be fecaling me!! if you still have that pic id like to see it. thats insane unless its crossed over very low it is useless....

justin... do you really have 945,121,610 posts? and if so, how OLD are you? i once heard this thing about if you started counting... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... etc, you wouldnt make it to 1 million in a lifetime... letalone 950 million...
could... god be a forum admin? and here i was a non-believer...
