I dunno if this is the appropriate section to this question but i want to buy a subwoofer because my speakers (2 x alpine peak 180 W) don't have the low frequencies that i want, but i'm not an expert and i was wondering if i need to first have an amplifier before the subwoofer...ah and the subwoofer is supposed to be installed in the back of the car correct? i was looking for something in a price range around the € 100 - 120 (i'm portuguese 100 € = 123 $).
Thanks in advance and sorry for my ignorance i hope that in this great forum (congratulations by the way!

) i'll be able to learn some things...

Generally speaking you want the amplifier before the subwoofer, since you can't run a sub w/o one, but an amp w/o a subwoofer is pointless, too. So just buy whichever one you want first. Most of the time the subwoofer goes in the trunk firing towards the rear.

p.s. - i almost forgot, another question is the enclosure...does the subs come with all the parts to fix it in the trunk? if its important my car is vauxall corsa A 1990-1993 ---

You will need to purchase or build an enclosure. Since you don't have any experience in audio, I'd recomend purchasing one. How much are you looking to spend on your sub and amp?

i was thinking about spending in both (amp+sub) around 250 $...i'm not looking to have the best material but i'd be happy with an average/good thing...tks

We have a package that we sell for $250, and we sell quite a bit of them. They have excellent sound, especially for a $250 combo set. It's made by Digital Audio, which isn't top-of-line, but it is decent stuff.
Comes with 2 10" subwoofers in a ported enclosure, amplifier, and wiring kit. Basically everything you need to get up and running. It's $250 plus shipping if you want.

Looks fine to me...At the moment i'm out of $$$ but in a near future i guess I'll get back to you to do business because it looks like a good relation quality-price.
Thanks for all the help!

you dont have to worry about justin if tells you its good then its good and hes not gonna rip you off. Justin how do those compare to the elevation comps?

I won't lie, the Comps are better. But I mean, for $250 for an amp, pair os subs, wiring kit, and ported enclosure, it's a damn good deal.
When you are ready to buy, just send me a PM!
