Orion 2150GX Old School Need Major Help!

I just picked up a first generation Orion 2150GX old school amp and am in need of help and advise.. After doing further research on this amp it specifies that in order to bridge the power to 600 watts you need a special module called a 400BDG bridging Module.. Orion does not make this module anymore since they are supposedly obsolete.. Does anybody have one for sale? Does anybody know a safe way to bridge this amp without the module? I am running an Alpine type R 12" sub in a ported box and can use the extra power.. What would be the best and least expensive way to get lows from this amp? Crossover? Any opinions will help.

i dont think theres a way to bridge it without that..orion used to do all kinds of stuff that made you buy more product....phantom power supplies and what not...ill look i may have an old orion module laying around the basement...
Sounds Great!

how much power does it give out per channel anyways. im sure that number is underrated so that might be plenty for that sub.

The amp is rated at 150x2 for a total of 300 watts.. What I am worried about is disipation of heat and not to fry this amp since it does not have a cooling fan.. What do you think I am looking at power wise without bridging it? I am running a low level converter to the rear speakers because I do not have RCA's on the headunit of my stock factory stereo.. Do I need a crossover? Will I be able to produce the deep bass that I was getting without a crossover? Thanks.

you need the 400BDG. period.
watch eBay for one. I see them go by on there now and then.
the GX series amps were cheaper because they didn't offer they features of teh SX and HCCA amps.. like built in bridging module and equalisation.
nice amp, but if you want it bridged, find a 400bdg on ebay.
I'm using mine in my own system.

i would really like to see you have a good cdplayer in front of that amp i hate to see a good amp like that be wasted on a line output converter.

you're also going to need a low pass filter for the sub.
those amps have no crossover built in.
either use a head unit with sub outs or a passive filter, unless you run multiple amps.. then an electronic crossover module
Can I use just a low pass crossover?

If I were to buy a low pass crossover and route my amp to that, will I be able to get my lows without bridging the amp? Like I said, I am just running an Alpine type R in a ported box.. What would be the least expensive way to get this amp working the way that I want it to.. The 400BDG is impossible to find and I want to use this amp ASAP.. Thank you

i would get an aftermarket cdplayer and run rcas, make sure it has a sub out that is adjustable. and try that amp with just using 1 channel. is your sub a DVC 4ohm or 2ohm? if it is a dvc 4ohm you cant bridge that amp anyway. or you could just sell that amp and get another one thats newer and use it in the setup you have.
