I have a 2000 Buick Century Custom. I have installed:

Hu: JVC Kameleon KD-LX111
Ft: Sony XS-V1330A 5.25
Rr: Sony XS-V6930A 6x9
Subs: None
Amp: Kole Audio HK620.2
Amp: Boss RT2500D

Looking to spend about 300 dollars. My music preference is hip-hop and r and b. It will be used as daily driver system.

i havent delt with ed yet and i dont really want too but the soundsplinters are awsome for the money. you really need a differnt amp than the boss. for 300 you could go with 2 rlp 8"s or get a couple RE re12"s and an amp to power them for 300.

the rlp's are just 10" and 12"
the rli's (8", 10") are not spl subs per se. nor are they meant for ported applications. very smooth and clear lows though. nice subs.
RE's are obviously great, but i don't know where you can cop 12"s for 200 bones.
ED's i believe share the same build house as Image Dynamics. good subs as well, IMO.
all have good, clear lows. they differ mostly in power requirements.

eD's are now built by Image Dynamics
eD's were built before by TC Sounds (Flatcones)
TC Sounds builds the Sound Splinters

He had aweful customer service and a poorly designed sub which also caused his amp to fail... in a nutshell.

Those flat-coned ones sure did sound really good (A-series at least).

oooh. that'll do it. :surprised
yeah, i wonder why they didn't run with that prototype. was the flat piston and the nomex that impractical? i was looking for them for quite a while before i gave up.
