New guy to all of this, need a lttle help

Hello everyone! Thanks for letting me join in. I'm just trying to upgrade my '97 Pontiac Grand Prix with a touch screen unit with Bluetooth and a back up camera, nothing wild or crazy.

I purchased a cheap Chinese unit in a single DIN version. I have the Bluetooth paired, the speakers, phone, and everything seems to work fine but I have a couple of issues I need help with if you can. The first is the unit does not hold memory of time/date or preset FM stations. The second is when I shift into reverse I get the message "No Signal". My "A" harness is labeled (in bold) thusly:
A1 - Reverse - Pink. I have this wired to the back up camera red wire.
A2 - Key (steering wheel controls) - Orange/Black. No corresponding wire in car harness. I do not have steering wheel controls in this car.
A3 - Antenna - Blue. Connected to Blue car harness wire.
A4 - Acc - Red. Connected to Red car harness wire.
A5 - Parking - Brown. No corresponding wire in car harness.
A6 - Battery+ - Yellow. Connected to Yellow car harness wire.
A7 - Ill - Orange - Connected to Orange car harness wire.
A8 - GND - Black. Connected to Black ground car harness wire.
I've double checked my camera wiring at the taillamp and all appears correct. I even tried a second camera.
Am I missing something with the A2 and A5 wires? Any advice/help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome to the forum,

What model is your head unit?
And what type of car are you installing it in?

But for the memory issue, double check the ACC and the Battery + connections.
ACC is normally hooked to a switched 12V
Battery+ hooked to a constant 12V+

is that how you have it?

The reverse camera. It seems like you have the trigger hooked up correctly because it switches the screen to the no signal. Are you sure that the video signal wire is connected to the head unit? They are normally an RCA (yellow), but could be something else too.

Thanks for the reply!
The head unit is an unbranded Chinese piece from Temu. It's going into a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix.

I used the Pontiac factory harness clip and wired the radio's clips into it with all corresponding colors (blk to blk, yellow to yellow, etc.). It all worked correctly on the Kenwood I pulled out (I know the Kenwood is a superior unit but I wanted the touch screen and back up camera). I could show you the wiring legend on the back of the unit and the wiring harness but don't know how to post pics on this forum.

hmm, it's hard to tell what is going on. It seems like maybe the constant and switched 12v are backwards. But if it worked before, that's strange. I did find this for your car, this is the non bose I believe. But it doesn't mention a red wire on the factory wiring.

To add an image, you should be able to do it with the add attachment function. But we've had issues with that in the past, let me know if you don't see it when you go to the full editor mode.

Thank Chris. I'm going to work on some other items for a while as this has me frustrated. I'll come back to it when I can wrap my head around it again,
