Thinking to Upgrade Stock Speakers: Worth It for Better Sound Quality?

Post by marcellosalas »

Hey everyone,

I have been thinking about upgrading the stock speakers in my car but I am not sure if it's really worth the investment. I enjoy listening to music on my daily drives but I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile. That said; I am looking for clearer sound and maybe a bit more punch in the bass without going overboard with a subwoofer or anything too complex.

For those who have upgraded their stock speakers, did you notice a big difference in sound quality: ?? Were there any particular brands or models that gave you the best value for money: ?? I am looking to keep things fairly simple, just replacing the speakers without adding an amp.

Also, any tips on installation: ?? I have never done anything like this myself so I am wondering if it’s something a newbie can handle or if I should leave it to the pros.

Thanks in advance !! Excited to hear your experiences and recommendations.

With Regards,

Hey There,
Just saw this post, thought I would answer.

The biggest issue you're going to run into with ONLY replacing the stock speakers, is the deck that is powering them.
Usually what happens is, people are disappointed when they replace the stock speakers and leave everything else as is. Because the stock deck is just not putting out enough clean power to drive them properly.

Also another thing, depending on the car. The stock speakers could have a weird impedance rating. So you would have to make sure you match that (if possible).
