Alpine INE-W940 and a backup camera on an F350 problem

Im looking to add a back up camera to my Alpine deck.

It's an Alpine INE-W940 with the Micropass Parking Brake Override Bypass setup.
Rearview camera is a basic one on a licence plate holder.

I have tried to set it up in different ways each with different successes but none correct


TEST 1
- Black RCA out from camera to reverse power and ground off the rear taillight
- Video RCA directly to the camera RCA plug on the back of the deck
- Red wire that stick out at both ends of the long RCA cable from camera to deck were taped up.

RESULTS
- Did not get any signal when backing up.
- Did get back up signal when in camera settings, making adjustments. I needed to be in reverse for it to work.
- However it would not work when reversing.

TEST 2
- Black RCA out from camera to reverse power and ground off the rear taillight
- Video RCA directly to the camera RCA plug on the back of the deck
- Red wire from RCA cable at deck end connected to reverse wire (I think Orange/wh) off deck
- Red wire from RCA cable at the camera end connected to same reverse power at taillight.

RESULTS
- I had no signal at all anywhere. Was unable to acquire any kind of video signal.

I then reverted back to TEST 1 scenario and i now have no signal at all whatsoever????



Any suggestions on what i am doing wrong?
