Hey guys! What's up? I know there have probably been threads like this in the past, but I did a search and did not really find anything too similar. Anyway...

My questions to all of you are:
What was your very first car audio setup?
Did you like it? Was it what you expected?
How long did it last before you upgraded?

an old pioneer deck, kicker comps 8" in truck boxes in a car, rockford 200 watt amp, stock speakers up front. kinda getto but i was 14

Hmmmmm...

First stereo in my BMW:
2 10" Audiobahn Flame Q's
Audiobahn 600 watt amp
Pioneer 6300 Head unit
Kenwood 6x9's

I only had one voice coil on each sub hooked up...but it sounded good to me at the time.

Second stereo in the BMW:
2 Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2's
Sony "1000" watt amp (blew after 2 weeks)
Then got my current audiobahn A3201Q
Pioneer 6400 head unit
Kenwood 6x9's

Sounder louder...but the subs just didnt sound right.

Stereo in my 1988 Saab 900 Turbo:
2 10" Kicker L7's sealed
Audiobahn A3201Q
Pioneer 6400 head unit (same as above)
Stock interior speaks
Got pretty loud for sealed

Stereo in my 1992 GMC Jimmy:
At first, 2 10" Kicker L7's sealed
Audiobahn A3201Q
Same pioneer head unit as above
Infinity 4x6's in the dash & Stock 6x9's in the rear

Second Stereo in the Jimmy:
1 10" Kicker L7 in a ported box
Audiobahn A3201Q
Pioneer 6500 head unit
Same interior speaks

This set up is def. my loudes i have ever had...and its a single 10, ported.

But im still not happy w/ the L7, considering i have sent 4 back and had to re solder the tinsel lead on the one i have now.

my first car system was an AM radio in a 1977 plymouth volare station wagon, with a single dash speaker, and a kazoo.

I could play that kazoo like nobody's business!

I still have my first setup. Consist of 2 RE12's, RE components, PPi pc275 amp for subs, alpine v power 90w amp for components, clarion DXZ545MP head unit. I like the way it sounds in a friends car, havent got it hooked up in mine yet but it gets pretty loud. Vehicle is a 2002 gmc envoy.

well my first setup goes like this
Pioneer HU
2 homemade boxes containing 1 Pioneer coax. 6x9 and 1 stock pontiac 6x9 each
200w boss chaos amp
stock 6x9s in factory location
thats right 6 6x9s in back, what can i say i was young and dumb

I had a 65 Mustang with the optional AM/FM radio, factory 4x10 in dash, and I put some Jenson Triaxial 6x9s in the back and powered them off a crappy EQ/amp combo. That system sucked, I've grown up now :)

6 6x9's? That must have been "chaos" with that amp too lol. Have you upgraded since then?
