Hey guys,
I'm new to cars, car audio, and this forum. I am getting a pair of 10" pioneer subs at 350watt each for the trunk of my forester. How should I power these guys? I am getting a 700watt amp as soon as I get the money, but I guess my real question is whether to replace my car battery with a higher wattage one or get another battery for the trunk and connect them(if I have to do this I will need some help with instructions). Thanks.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
I think with that system, you don't really need to upgrade you're alternator it should have enough power for you.
How old is your battery? I would replace that if you're needing more listening time with the engine off. I wouldn't mess with adding another battery, unless you really want more engine off time.
I would run 4 gauge wire to the amp, that way if you decide to add another amp later the wire will be able to handle the extra current draw.

I have a 2007 forester that only has 39k miles on it, so the battery really hasn't been used that much. Is it safe to run the 700watt amp off the factory amp?

Chris is right about everything. 700 watts RMS should be fine with a factory Alt and battery. Especially on a newer car.
Just make sure you have a GOOD ground, and run 4 guage + back to the amp.
If anything, replace your factory battery with one designed for car audio aplications. Bill (another forum member) can help you more than I an if you decide to go that route.
