Alarm Help, dome light..

Hey Guys,

Putting my old Alpine Alarm in the Camaro, but having a heck of a time figuring out how to get the dome light supervision to work.
The alarm has an internal relay for the dome lights.

The camaro uses I guess a negative input. So the wires up to the dome light are orange (always 12) and white (n/o). It appears that when you open the door, the white wire goes to ground completing the circuit and turns the light on.

The alpine alarm has 2 wires, red/blue (5amp fuse) and a blue yellow. By default the alarm is set to use negative input.

Right now when you turn the alarm off, the red/blue supplies 12 volts for 30 seconds. But this is not what I need it to do.
I need it to go to ground, and hook it to the white wire (n/o) wire in the car.

How it was hooked up in the last car, blue/yellow went to the door pin. Red/Blue went to dome light, and the last car was an older GM. So I thought it would be the same. I don't swap them around do I?

ugh, this is driving me insane.

Another question; I'm trying use EXT1 to pop the rear hatch.
I know I have to use a relay, but not sure how to hook it up.

The switch for the rear hatch has 2 wires. one is green and is constant 12 Volts, and the other seems to be a ground. When you click the switch, the 12v wire seems to go to 0.

What do I need to do, to add a remote option to this setup?

What's the model number of your alarm? I should be able to figure this out.

Alpine SEC 8058

i should be able to figure this out too, that's what's driving me nuts. lol.

I've always hated alarms though.

For your dome light supervision, you'll need a relay. Connect your red/blue wire to pin 86 and ground pin 85.

You can either run a wire from pin 30 to the car's white wire and ground pin 87.

or

You can break the connection on the white wire. connect the side that goes to the light to pin 30 and the other side to pin 87a. Ground pin 87. pins 85 and 86 would be the same.

Either of those two should work.

For your trunk pop, you need to know for sure what's popping the trunk. If the green wire goes from 12v to ground, what's the other wiring doing? You may need two relays for this one.

The dome light relay is supposed to be internal on that alarm. The last car I had this in was a GM, and I know I was able to get it to work without a relay.

On the remote switch, when you slide the button forward the 2 pins short together. So it shorts the 12v pin to ground. You can hear the relay in the car clicking when you do this.
Doesn't make any sense to me, trying to look up the wiring on that.

Well, if you can't figure out how to change the polarity on your dome light supervision, that relay pinout will work.

take a piece of wire, stick a 10 amp fuse inline, ground it and touch it to the 12V wire at the switch and see if your trunk pops. If it does, then ground that wire. If not, something else has to be happening there.

For my remote hatch release, the green wire is ground and it's attached to the switch at the base of the brake handle, this is for 5-speed. That enables the relay when the remote release switch is activated. Should be something similar on an automatic, but the green wire should go to the park/neutral safety switch and get its ground from there.

I haven't had much time to work with this over the week, but I tried your suggestion and grounded the other wire, and it popped the hatch.

so somehow using a relay, I need to trigger a ground instead of a 12+ when the button on the remote is pressed.
