XXX's over-rated...a challenge to you.

That's right, the XXX's are over-rated. Yes, I said it. On a board where every single "what sub should I get?" post immediately gets answered with "RE", I said it. Your precisious XXX's are over-rated, improperly labeled subwoofers.

I have a challenge to propose. I'm sure no one will have the ability to do this, but the challenge is there. Bring your 12" XXX's, with their so-called 32mm of xmax to Detroit Bass. You choose the vehicle, you choose the power they get, you choose the enclosure. Give your pair of 12" XXX's 2000w RMS a piece if you want, in a aeroported enclosure designed specifically for them, do it. I GUARENTEE my 12" Elevation Audio Pro subwoofers will be louder. I'll put them in the same vehicle you put your XXX's in. I'll give them each 450w RMS, and each in a .8^ft sealed enclosure, and I guarentee that they will be louder. why am I doing this? To prove that the xmax rating on XXX's, and the belief that they are the ultimate super-sub, is total bullshit. I'm putting your 32mm of xmax up against my labeled 15mm of xmax. Why? because xmax is a bullshit rating.

If you care to step up to the challenge, I will gladly shut you down. If you win, you get $100 in Detroit Bass credit. If you lose, you owe me $10 cash for wasting my time with your over-rated subwoofers.

So come on all you XXX lovers, step up. I'm not denying that RE makes good products, but I am stating that they are over-rated in many, many aspects. xbl2 is using 2 small voice coils and having two magnetic gaps, one at the
the top plate and one at the bottom plate, the theory is that you have use
smaller coils to have more effieciency, however, i feel that it has a lot of unsolved issues with out of the gap movement! this is why I believe the 32mm xmax rating is wayyy too high! The same motor structure is being used on Orion H2 subwoofers, and how many of them do you see at SPL competitions??

Go ahead and start your flaming if you must. It's just my theory, and I have enough faith in my Pros that i can GUARENTEE they are louder, and better sounding then you XXX's are. No, you can say to get mine metered and you will get yours metered. cars react differently to stereos, and Saturn's are terrible for SPL.

geez you sound pretty sure of yourself...but aren't we (as a forum) a little past the whole XXX has the most xmax and means they are really loud? i dont really think anyone will openly object here but if you posted this on say caraudio.com you might get some interesting reactions!

plug those into ryans calculator in the FAQ section and then plug the XXX's in...

^^ that's not sarcasm btw, im really wondering

That is a very interesting theory. I would be interested to see the 2 diff. set ups metered and see how different they are.

Just seems kinda strange that a sub w/ half the xmax and a lot less power handling is louder.

Not doubting you, just curious.

see that's the problem, no subwoofer should have a peak pwoer rating of 3200w, it's absolutely ridiculous. A driver should never be able to handle that much power, it just helps to prove what a XXX really is. Xmax is more then what you think it is, voice coil has a lot to do with how loud a subwoofer can get, too. The Pros, at full power, have almost 3" peak to peak, so xmax doesn't mean as much as you may think.

We will see. even though i SHOWED him how loud the Pro's are, Chris from Mi decided to go w/ the XXX pair instead. he will be my first victim. Just wait and see, Elevation Audio is a new company, I guarentee within two years that they will be considered one of the ultimate brands available. Then I can look you al lstraight in the eye and say "Told ya so' with a smile.

Do it, tell Joe I send ya over, he's an awesome guy.

I've already installed a couple pairs of their comp subwoofers. Tey get really loud for the price, and still sound amazing doing it. Excellent sub for $100-129.

Ok I have heard them and yes they are loud. But you know that we will never be able to directly compare them because who is going to dismantle there system to put the elevation setup into there car or vise versa. Even if some how we do you would need a mic because at the level a 2-3db difference isn't going to be easy to distinguish. The test would be actually getting each car tested and see who's is the loudest. But, you will always be able to fall back on your Saturn is a poor SPL car. Another thing in question would be give the XXX's the same amount of power as the Pro's and they could still be as loud? Just because they can handle that much power doesn't mean you must have it. You know just as well as I do that a sub can reach its maximum output with less power than its MAX handling ability.

I would hope you'll be using a meter...What are you selling these Pro line subs for, Justin?
