I have a Focal 33v1 that quit working. It didnt make any funny noises or smells it just all of a sudden stopped.

Now I need a replacement and I am looking to go back to the darkside (SPL). My Focal sounded great and got loud but not loud enough. I am leaning towards getting this sub to replace it.

I would like to get something in the 1500-2000 watt range but I dont have the funds for that and a new amp. So I need sub for one of the amps I already have and the biggest one I got is 500 watts. Is that enough to power that cadence sub or should I look into getting something else?

That sub has a fairly low SPL or sensitivity I think you would be better off finding a sub better suited to your amp.

Thats kinda disapointing, I liked the looks of that sub. And it meets my two main requirements, price and no one I know has that brand. I guess I will look some more.

There is a reason no one has it lol. If you like it that much pick it up I just think there are better options

Bill... have you joined the AB nut swingers?

Just kidding, that sub would work good...

A 15" Type R in the right box would probably throw down OK as well.

EDIT: I really like my 10" DX, I run 340 watts to it, it's rated at 250 watts. It pretty loud for a single 10", but more importantly it sounds good doing it.

I would go with 2 12" DXs first.

500 WRMS total @ 2 Ohms.

If you got it, go with it.

The DX 12 is my next purchase.

If he only has 1 500rms amp 1 sub will most likely be louder on that power with the correct box.
