Some of you might of guessed that I'm a big fan of winter/snow. Well I was talking to my cousin about wanting to go on a little snow adventure this year. Basically I want to get a raft or canoe and float down to a series of camp grounds, basically make a week or so trip out of it, strangely he though it sounded like a fun idea as well...

Well tomorrow night we're suppose to get a few inches of snow so we're going to go ahead and go on an overnight just for something to do. It should be a lot of fun! Of course I'll take a lot of pictures, should be pretty cool out there with some snow on the ground. :excited:

Have you ever been winter camping? What are the expected temperatures?

Winter camping, yep... Snow, nope.

The temps aren't going to be real cold, around 29 degrees... with wind guest at 40 mph though.

The snow is really trying to push north though, we might not even get enough to make it worth wild (maybe only an inch?)

I hoping the storm will track south a bit, right now I just don't now... :sad017:

I have this feeling the storm is going drop south a bit more than expected, I think were going to get around 3" of snow, but that's a guess... and a hopefully guess at that. :D

If you are going to go, 100% wool is your friend on a trip like this because you have to count on getting wet and wool keeps 80% of it's insulating capabilities even when it's soaked with water. And if you can't get dry the chances of becoming hypothermic are very high. Once hypothermia sets in, you're pretty much usless to yourself.

Trust me, I've been there three times and once I had to depend on my friends to get me back home. I once couldn't leave my house for three days after becoming severely hypothermic. It kicked my ass. It set in, in under two hours of being half drenched with water while out on Slave Lake just after the ice left in early spring. We shouldn't have even been out on the lake, I knew better.

I'm going to take some extra clothes just in case. If we don't get at least a 2-3" I'm not sure if we're even going to go...

This is gay!

Well of course. We get most of our snow in February.
