This year I decided to get a real tree instead of the fake.

I put it up for free on Craigs List to a needy family.

Below is my ad.
I have a very good shape 6.5' Foxwood clear lighted pine tree.

This is a prelit tree.

I bought it at Target for $70. We used it twice- so its still in very good shape.

This is free to a Family that needs it. Just tell me why you need my free tree. I want to see this goto a family that cant afford a tree and kids that should have one. If you have no vehicle I may be able to deliver. As I said I want this to goto a needy family. Please note I will NOT go into the real rough neighborhoods/ghetto.
Im quite shocked and humbled by the mails I have received overnight.

I have received 3 emails sent from "blackberry" or "smart phones". I have had people on disability, unemployment. I have had old people with no money. People with Email names such as "phatmoney". Ive even searched a few of the names out of curiosity- found a man trying to pretend being a woman fending for her kids...

Obviously if you can afford a smart phone or blackberry you dont have my sympathy as I have NO cell phone- plus if you can afford it you can afford a tree...

Im jsut kind of shocked at how some people are willing to just take a perfectly good tree like this instead of letting someone in real need have it. Greedy people...

Im kinda wadding thru the mails. Tonight I plan to select a family and hook them up with the free tree.

Ive got three mails with families with younger children that Im most interested in.

Just curious if anyone else has had similar dealings on the free section of Craigs List?

Some of the people on there make me sick!

Like people who post stuff like this.
Please help a single mother of 3 (soon to be 5). I need a van.

Single mother of 3 and pregnant with twins needs a mini van. Must be a 2002 or newer. Must have working a/c and under 100,000 miles. Must be in good shape with clean interior and body.

I don't have any money so I'm can only take donations.
It's like, um, no. It's literally sickening to me!

NOTE: That was posted, I made it up... but I've seen ad's exactly like that.

There should be open season for people like that... OK, maybe not crazy, but they should have to have their reproductive system ripped out.

I've tried selling stuff cheap, like my used tires, thinking someone without much money would come by to snag them. Only to have some douche come and check them out, wanting me to drop the price to free so he can then place them up for sale and make some cash. Even becoming rude and abrupt when I decline, as if I were the one trying to rip him off.

There are plenty of them out there.

Yep, that's CL for ya.

I still use it, I've bought and sold a lot of stuff on there, but it can be a little annoying at times!

Well out of all the mails I think Ive selected someone.
me and my husband are in need of your tree. he resently lost his job and we have very little money. not enough to by a tree for our three kids they are 5,3,and 18months.the youngest is disabled so our money is always tight cause of medical bills and equipment that she needs.our older boys keep asking where is santa going to put our presents if we have no tree? if you can help us out please call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX my name is lona.
I know we have pulled together around the Holidays before for a members friend. I was wondering if anyone wanted to try and help get some ornaments for this tree.

Im fairly broke until the 15th but I got $10 to start things off. I figured if we can gather a little more money it would allow me to pick up some ornaments at Wal Mart. Obviously nothing flashy, but something with a little taste.

If we could collect about $40 that would be stellar. I think it would cover tree topper and ornaments.

Im sure you could. I think they take $.30 plus 3%

Such is life though.

lets see if anyone else steps up. Any little bit helps.

I remember the one year I purchased a kids jacket online @ Wal mart and had it shipped directly to the kids/parents house. I know Justin spent some cash as well as Bill Wolf. hell we all chipped in. (Sorry to those I forgot, I got a shitty memory).

Kind of a bad time for me (money wise). Being sick set me back pretty good, now I'm pinching pennies to catch up. I can probably come up with some money, I will let you know how much tomorrow.

When are you taking them the tree?

Unfortunately the earliest I could get it to them is Saturday. They are about a 45 minute drive from me.

That's actually better, it'll give people a chance to see this and donate.

I'm going to send you a pm Ryan, I have a really good idea.
