Hey guys, I may have done something bad. A few weeks ago my wife's little brother was telling me about some driving he had been doing. He is 16 and just had his license maybe 2 months.

He was telling me how fast he had been going, was in the 70 -90 mph range. He hasnt wrecked...yet. I told him I wouldnt say anything cause I know how his mother is. So for the last few weeks I have been battling back and forth with "do I say something and possibly save his life" or keep my mouth shut because he trusts me.

So today I inadvertenly made my decision, his dad was riding home with us and I told him he needed to take his keys, naturally his dad asked why, and without telling him, I told him.

Now my wife knows everything, and I feel like a heel for rattin him out, but I may have just saved his life.

what do you guys think, am I a rat??

no, i think that was completely the right thing to do because think of how bad it could have been, its a lot easier to get over loosing your keys for a bit, than a bad wreck. but think of how shitty you would feel if he wrecked and hurt himself and there was something you could have done about it.

Being an adult over a friend any day... He may be pissed in the short term but in the long term hopefully he wont be dead.

well thanx guys, yeah I think being an adult is better than being a friend. Im not gonna worry about it. If he gets pissed then so be it.

Thanks for the support

Should've just told his dad to say that "people" have seen him flying around the countryside.

Speed kills.

Without a doubt the right decision.

I wouldnt even feel bad about this.

You question your judgment to much man. From everything Ive seen you have been spot on. Carry on the good work.

You made the right choice.

When I was 16 I had a bit of a heavy foot, I didn't really drive fast, just really quick.

I still drive the same way... I almost always do the speed limit, I just like to get there really fast....

If the kid gives you any lip, just look him dead in the eyes and say "I'm banging your sister!" It probably won't help smooth things over, but it'll be funny!

ROFL, LOL this is true. LMBO.

I was gonna save this one for that special occasion, but it would work here pretty well too.

Yea, you definitely did the right thing. There is no way he will have the experience for that. Tell him to go drive a track car for a few years before he does that.

Hitting the local strip can be ton's of fun.

Just curious, what kind of car does the kid have?
