so my buddy bought a 01 s2000 and we've been working on it and such to get it ready for local scca events (sports car club of america) and to make a long story short i was driving and he had a few cones setup to weave in and out of to test the mod's hes been doing to the car, and he let me take it through them a a couple times. (i've driven the car plenty of times, but never pushed it) and sure enough i frickin nailed the last cone, scratching up the front side of the car :sad017: It looks like most of the scratches can be taken out with a good buffing compound, and if i have to i'll buy touch up paint, but does anyone know of a good buffing compound for scratches?

use 3m ruff cut compound at first and then 3m swirl mark remover after wards. be careful if you are using a a buffer you can burn the paint really easily.

You would think a rubber thats been in the sun for a long time would be soft, not hard????

Anyways, good luck getting your buddies car fixed.. Doesn't sound like he's to angry about it. It happens, you know.

yeah, well some drunk girl backed into the rear bumper stratching it (no dents, rubber bumper) so he already has to buy some touch up paint anyway, he wasnt too mad about it

so today i went with my buddy to a scca event outside of daytona and had a blast!! This time he let me drive the car and it was a ton of fun. not sure of exact times (they'll be posted tomorrow) but of the 4 runs i ran a 50, 51, 49, 46 sec around the cone-marked track. I wasnt expecting the last score to be so well, as my buddy's best time was a 44 and change, and he is one hell of a driver- raced carts, then formula bmw, and star mazda's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KR8InsjvpM

I got a crappy cell phone vid of my last (and best) run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMTQAnoGojM
