Im hooking up a crunch 1200w amp to an orion 10" 4000w sub (max values). Wondering about ohm loads. My amp is capable of a 2 ohm load and so it the sub. what is the best way to wire it to get some good power without frying my amp. the booklet shows configurations for a 2 ohm load on the sub and a 4 ohm load on the amp. Or a 4ohm to 4 ohm load. or i dont know if it is an option or not but a 2 ohm to 2 ohm load.
also any information of ohms and what they are would be appreciated haha all i know is that my amp makes more rms at 2 ohms compared to 4 ohms

This post is really confusing. Link to the sub and amp? Max ratings mean nothing FYI. A good place to start reading up about ohms and other things car audio related is
http://www.bcae1.com .
Ohms is the measure of electrical resistance. Every amp will put out the most power at its lowest ohm load. In your case 2 ohms. The exception to that would be an amp with a regulated power supply such as the JL slash series amps and I believe phoenix gold makes one as well, in which case the amp will put out the same power at any load.

When I attempt to read/learn about voltage, current, amperage, etc... I have to take a break after just five minutes of reading. It's a waste of effort to keep reading after that amount of time because my brain just refuses to soak any further information in.
