Make sure you go over all your wiring and reconnect everything. Something could be loose or it could even be your head unit.

make sure the input sensitivity on the amplifier isn't turned up too high. Set it to 25% of full to start.
Set the LP filter to about 50-60Hz
Set slope/Q-factor to 18dB/octave
turn off any "bass boost" EQing features
carefully check the integrity of the power and ground cables at all connection points, including chassis, battery, and amplifier.
Check the remote trigger line connections.
After that, also disconnect the sub, and check DCR across the terminals, lightly and gently press on the cone, with fonger tips around the center dust cap, to feel if the cone is frozen, or if it moves freely.
You can also take an alkaline battery with a wire at each terminal (pos/neg) and touch one wire to each speaker terminal (just a quick tap of a touch) and see if the speaker cone moves and if the speaker produces a popping sound.
That will tell you if the sub is severely damaged most times.
