So yesterday I was on my way home when I seen a truck broke down at a busy intersection. The husband was trying to push it while the wife was doing the operating. Seeing the fella struggling I decided WTF and pulled over to help. After checking it over real fast it was clear it wasn't a quick road side fix, so I helped the husband push it into a near by parking lot.

Once in the parking lot I give the truck a better look, it's pretty bad. They had a mechanic friend put a clutch in, he didn't bleed the clutch right and it wouldn't disengage all the way, the starter was getting ready to fall off (one bolt missing, the other real loose), and the fuel pump wasn't kicking on... nice!

The lady said they were in Sullivan to pawn their PlayStation so they could pick up her husbands prescriptions, then asked if I could give her husband a ride to the pawn shop. I didn't really mind, I was done for the day so I had the time. Well it turns out that pawn shop would only give 10 bucks for it, the other one said they would give 15, but he pawned it anyways.

While dropping the husband back off at the truck the wife asked if she could use my cell phone. No problem, she called her daughter, the daughter could pick them up... However, they weren't sure if she would be there before wal-mart closed their pharmacy, so they asked if I would take him over there. Sure, no problem. Once in the parking lot the husband informed me he was going to be about 4 bucks short... Ehh, I gave him a 10 and told him to bring me back my change, which he did.

So we drive back over to their broke down truck. I dropped him off, the daughter was coming to get them, but how were they going to get the truck home? Having already done everything else I said I could probably borrow my uncles trailer the next day and haul it for them (for FREE I might ad.)

Now fast forward to today. Because of the rain last night I was unable to get the trailer out because it was parked in the mud. I own a 2wd s10 and it just wasn't going to happen and my uncle wasn't home yet (he has a 4wd.) So I went home to relax a bit and to wait on him. The other people call while I was in the bathroom. I come out and listen to the voice mail. I could hear the husband say something as he was hanging up. It sounded something like "eff it, I don't have time for this crap." Or at least that's what it sounded like, but I figured maybe I'm wrong???

So I call back, the guy wasn't there, but they said he would call me right back... which he did. I explain about the trailer and told him I would call him back as soon as I heard something from my uncle (this was about 2pm.)

At 6pm the guy calls back, I told him I still haven't heard anything, but if I couldn't get a hold of my uncle soon it would have to wait until tomorrow (no trailer lights, my truck has a different plug, which is why I didn't haul it yesterday.) The guys like oh, well as long as you're not lying (pissy sounding)... then he sorta change the subject real fast... oops!

So I'm starting to get pretty pee'd off. I've never met these people before I pushed their truck off the road, I was just trying to be a nice person, you know?
Then the guy has the nerve to talk to me like I'M inconveniencing HIM. At first I was like, ehh, maybe he's just worried about his truck. But once I hung up the phone and thought about it, I realized exactly why people aren't so quick to help others anymore. When he calls tomorrow I'm going to tell him I found a way to get his truck home real fast, call a EFFING TOW TRUCK, PRICK.

Ungrateful is right. As if you owe him something.

I once drove a large tow-behind generator way the hell out in the middle of nowhere during the coldest winter month for a friend. His dad owned a towing/hotshot delivery company. His dad was pulled over by the cops while he was intoxicated and he was about to drive the generator out to this site himself. With nobody else to deliver it, I did it. It was a job that in the end he made good money off of and I made nothing. I was just being helpful because my friend asked for the help.

Fast forward a year. Same friend gets his tow truck stuck in muskeg which is basically bottomless mud and calls me up for a tug. I put my F-150 truck through hell to get him out. Fuel out of my pocket and no offer to fill my tank after. Whatever. He was even grouchy after because I pulled him backwards faster then he had wanted. Whatever.

Fast forward again. So my truck sits for an entire summer and winter and suffered a frozen battery and blown rear end because water got in the pan and had frozen in the rear end. At that time I was at home all beat up. Broke and couldn't even afford food. I ask this friend, hey, could I get you to tow my truck across town? (like one mile) Answer from friend, sure it's $50 bucks...

Ya people like that just suck.

You just know, that's how they go through life too. Just leaching off of others, and the moment something doesn't go their way, they are a 'victim' and they make it like everyone is out to get them.

You're seeing it more and more too now, more people have that type of attitude.

They were probably spoiled little sh*ts growing up. This pisses me off more than anything - people have no respect or appreciation anymore. Forget about manners and inteligence too, those are going away...

The sad thing is, this kind of crap is becoming more and more common, its driving our nation and world into the ground.
