my car doesnt look that bad unless you really look at it then you can tell everything is off. trunk doesnt close all the way the drivers side door is cracked near the latch the whole rear end looks off to me and it pulls to the right when driving and hard to the left when braking. i have no idea what to do tomorrow when i go to the truck drivers insurance company they called once saying that they cant tear the car down and check for any real damage just body damage the body looks alright cept for the bumper and trunk which are obvious. it drives just not like it did

my neck got whipped really hard i had to go to the e.r. get ct scans xrays all that jazz half my face went numb and the feeling still isnt right. dad hit his head and elbow his neck isnt as bad as mine.
idk should i get a lawyer

While the body may not look bad, if the trunk doesn't close right and there are tell tale signs of slight damage by the drivers door... sounds like the frame itself has been tweeked, so it may be a lot worse than it looks.

Worrying about an enclosure after an accident should be the last thing on your mind. Make sure the doctors take care of what your issues are and dont play the hard ass bad ass route. My dad is still suffering from an accident he had 10 years ago because "it wasnt that bad"

Get the car fixed and yourself fixed and then worry bout your sub box. When your ready PM me the design is on me.

1.) Don't listen to the insurance company saying that they will only fix body damage... Take it to a shop that is credible and will do everything they can to get your car fixed. Best thing to do is to make sure you let them know that your car did not drive this way before the accident and to let them know.

2.) If you are not feeling physically well after an accident, and it is impacting your quality of life so that, a.) you cannot work or b.) are inconvenienced by your ailment,

you need to get a lawyer. Accident lawyers are great for this because they know how to extract the correct amount of cash out of a settlement and also can get you started with workman's comp as well. Trust me I have been there and my father and brother as well. Its best to at least speak with a lawyer for your options.

Good luck buddy.

Great advice but please dont get one of those sleazy lawyer's who will try to get you 9million dollars because you bumped your head. That's an example by the way.

Good point Bill... Nah just use a credible attorney... I found the best way is to ask around... a lot of ppl have been in accidents and they can recommend a good lawyer. Also if you trust YOUR insurance company, a lot of times the assessors they send out will suggest a lawyer in your area. You could always use them as well.

He didn't mention he was working at the time? Why would workers comp be involved?

As for advice to the OP, for sure find a decent lawyer who will work on a contingency. They usually take a 1/3 of the total sum you get, so make sure you are very clear about just how much of the total you will receive, what your costs are, and do not sign ANYTHING until you are 100% sure. There is no reason to rush anything.

Here is an example of what I learned when I was younger and was rear ended. I hired a scumbag ambulance chaser to take my case. He said we are going to get you $10k. I was like, hmmm that sounds good. Well, he didn't mention that the medical bills, physical therapy, auto repair, ambulance, towing, and everything else came out of my end of the $10k after he took his cut. All said and done, I ended up with about $50 of that $10k in my pocket.

Now I am not all about frivolous lawsuits, but just make sure you understand fully what you are getting and not getting.

Jon,

He I believe he would still be eligible for WC if he has to get therapy. Sure he was not hurt on the job but if he has medical appointments in the future that will cut into his job he can apply for some sort of compensation... I'm pretty sure that's what my father did when he was rearended, although his scenario was a bit different since he had a pre-existing condition from an injury working on a job site, that was agitated by the accident.
