Anyone have an Acer Netbook or has used one?
Im looking to get one so I can be mobile with music/movies into my car. Also so I have a mobile computer for internet/email/games. The game I play is rather old and ran perfectly fine on my old system, so it should run fine on the netbook...
Anyhow. Experience?

Don't they only have like 4GB of solid state memory for a hard drive?
Which is fine if you have an external HD, but then you have to lug one more thing around.

I'm picking up a 120GB ipod classic today. So I can pile on all my CD's at highest quality possible and not have to worry about room. It holds video and jiz like that too.

They got a few different colors to choose from, Im jsut posting the first one I found.
$240...
If it can at least open/run Auto CAD, basic office functions, web, email and my Wolfenstein ET game. Im all about it...
Yes Bill I realize it wont like huge AutoCAD drawings. My PC @ works with 3 GB memory pukes out on a 130MB file...lol

I should have gotten one of these for my PC based RTA. Instead i'm rebuilding a dell that I had sitting around. (just had to spend $80 for a new screen and keyboard)

Oh, I see, you need it for more than just music and video files.
These actually look friggin sweet.

ive got one im on it now they are pretty nice for email web browsing and office stuff
not for gaming at all but it can emulate snes nes stuff like that and play very simple games. i havent even thought of installing any newer games though so im not sure its intel integrated graphics so i dont expect much i think it can use up to 224 mb of ram for video. i really wish nvidia had done the graphics chips
stutters sometimes on streaming video
the hyperthreading processor is kinda cool ive encoded a few movies with it and its pretty quick i think it could handle cad
i got one with the 120 gig hard drive after i first turned it on i was checking everything out and noticed it was 144 gigs so that was a cool surprise
i wouldnt use itunes/quicktime to watch any movies with it it bogs the system way down and stutters allot but with gomplayer or vlc they work fine winamp works great on it too but i prefer foobar
i use this more than my desktop or other laptops
one issue ive had is the primary ide channel getting stuck in pio mode but thats more of a windows problem than an acer one problem
its very quiet too get some headphones the built in speakers sound bad and make little noise
it is very convenient easy to carry around id get one if i were you i got mine the day they came out id like to get a touchscreen kit for it thats the only thing it needs
