i recently purchased a refurb autotek mm100.4 from maxxsonics hooked it up this past weekend, very pleased with sound quality, but i have noticed that the front left channel gets static and fades in and out, if i tap on the top of the amp where the rca's are sound will come back, i checked my rca cables, my speaker wires power and ground and all of it is ok. and the front left is the only one that does it, i have emailed them about it, but have not heard back from them, needless to say, i'm dissappointed, so i'm looking at a new amp Hifonics ZXi 6408. but i will wait another day or so to hear from maxxsonics before i purchase anything.
and if there are any interested individuals, i'm looking into possibly selling my RF Power 1000.1 bd.

Always call them, there probably not avoiding you they are a huge company and i know for a fact they receive thousands of emails a day. if i remember right the autotek refurbs had a 90 day warranty im sure they will take care of it for you.

well i was wrong, i did some further checking, and its not a problem with the amp, so i'm going to be replaceing all of the speaker wiring in my car, so now i'm more disappointed in myself for not checking further before jumping to conclusions.
i do have to replace the 4 leds under the autotek logo, and i need to polish the amp cover.

Isnt hifonics owned by maxxsonic? It'd be like driving a silverado, saying its junk, then going and buying a sierra... lol
I'm glad you got it figured out, its faster to re-run some speaker wife than it is to ship back an amp, have it fixed, then shipped back! :happy055:

How did you determine that?
Still running stock wires?

its all aftermarket speaker wire, it just been there for 3 yrs. i swapped the rca signals so the right speaker was running left channel, and vise versa, and left speaker still acted up.

and this is how companies get a bad name

but I'm glad you found the issue... imagine how many of these go unnoticed and people just assume it's the amp.

i'm not trying to give them a bad name, i always get nervous purchasing refurb stuff, and i made an early assumption, but if you read my first post i did state the quality is excellent from the amp.

im not saying you are im just letting everyone know this is how it happens an assumption by someone less educated than yourself spreads rumor's of bad quality. its exactly what happened to hifonics name. Un-educated people tried to install them which they did incorrectly and the amps got a bad name.
