I was heading to my moms house, it's cold and flurring, so I pull over and told him I'd give him a ride but I was only going to the next town... So he jumps in and we're driving down the interstate just chatting away.. Turns out he was from West Virginia, lost his job, and was heading to Texas where his brother n law had a job waiting...
So we get to my moms town, which is very small, and little chance of getting a ride... So I took took him another 20 or so miles up the road to a truck stop and gave him a few bucks for a cup of coffee...
Kind of makes you feel good helping somebody out when you can :happy055: ....

Once I drove passed a guy holding his thumb out for a ride. He gave me the finger as I passed. So I nailed the brakes, slammed my F-150 in reverse and headed for his hockey bag on the side of the highway. About 30 feet away from hitting it I realized it was my bosses son. Thank goodness the brakes were good.

I dont pick them up ever.
To many bad people out there anymore. You just never know. Now if I seen a family I might (such as their van/suv broke down). But even thats unlikely.

Also, I once stopped to help a lady change her tire. I was wishing she would pull out a weapon and force me to have sex with her. No luck.

I don't mind helping people in need (example: someone walking down the interstate with a gas can)... Around the Toledo area though I've heard of a ton of horror stories involving your so called regular hitchhikers so I avoid them.

On vacation
Am I wrong here?
these are the top 3 topics in OT.
I was a little amused by the sentence they created.
