i was going through adires DIY products(thinking of getting some kits for home audio but cant read schamatics)and i found a new sub, the parthenon and OH MY GOD this thing has 82 mm of one way excursion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thats right 82mm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man i tought 29mm for the brahma was insane this new sub is just ridiculos, heres a pick of the motor structure



this thing will run around 4,000$ and is for home audio i think, funny how adire was the talk of the whole ces, these guys are so ahead of everyone some "big name companys"(they wont say)actually wanted to use there technology or are planing to buy im not sure, anyways what do you boys think :) nice little toy huh.oh heres the link http://adireaudio.com/TextPages/ParthenonPageFrameText.htm

Old news, I posted about it on the old board a long time ago :P Definately cool stuff though. That $4,000 is just for the motor structure too. That's not counting the cone, backet, ect.

The problem with such drivers is the cone/voice coil weight.

If these component weigh to much it will affect the sub greatly. 6.5" peak-peak dont mean squat if it will only resonate at 2 Hz.....

...that and shelling out the cash to power it correctly

How much would something of that nature require?
