Last week there was an article in our local paper (The Toledo Blade) about snow removal in Monroe County Michigan... Link here: http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081126/NEWS16/811260451

For all of those that really don't want to read though the article, it basically says that Monroe county is cutting back on all snow removal throughout the county and that over the weekends there will be no snow removal for subdivisions. In the instance of excessive snowfall they will be left for last if got to at all and the crews will concentrate all efforts towards major roads and those with schools on them.

Basically what that means is that people with plow trucks could make a killing this year... There are tons of subdivisions in the Lambertville area alone that are all high scale homes and I'm sure you could get everyone in one neighborhood to pitch in $5-10 bucks each just to have their area done without even accounting for the driveway jobs you could get within the same neighborhood at $20-$40 bucks a pop.

I'd buy a late 90's model f250 power stroke (7.3) :happy055:

Fords don't like me... And IF I do find something it will have to be REALLY cheap.

just buy a late 80's fuel injected pickup chevy or ford. They are decent and you dont need a huge truck to do a little snow plowing. we have used the same 3/4 ton for 25 years and the same plow.

And you can find them all day long for under a grand, if you dont mind a little rust and maybe a few dents...

I just sold my 88 chevy 2500 4x4 4 speed to my cousin, otherwise I would'da gave you a really good deal on it...

Craigslist is a great place to buy from (atleast in my area.)

You could probably find something on there that would meet your requirements/budget....

I was looking there this morning, but nothin right now... You can bet I'll be checking it daily :D
And I'd actually prefer a truck that already has a plow as the used plows up here can get more expensive than the trucks... And occasionally you can find a lot better deal on a combo like that for under a grand... Again, may not be pretty... and if it's somethin like a good ole 350 then I could even handle it if it needed some mechanical work if it's cheap enough.

Even a 305 should do ok...

If your pushing snow youre probably going to be in 4wd :D , so there should be plenty of torque...

The 305 made pretty good torque down low...
