so a while back i blew a fuse, went to my local audio shop and had it replaced. while i was there i asked one of their install guys if he could set the gain on my amp cuz i wasnt too sure how to do it. so he did but now im wondering if he did it right? my headunit has a subwoofer level control that goes all the way up 15. he put it all way at 15. bass level is at 0. but in order for me to get to the sound and bass that i want i have to turn up my bass knob all the way.

o jesus christ. ok. stop playin it period thats bad news! dont ever go to that shop again. there is an FAQ on the forum explaining games and how to set them. Check it out. But please your hurting your sub and amp with improper gains.

You'll need a DMM (Digital Multimeter) which are cheap enough, and worth every penny.

This is exactly the reason I wrote it ;) ... obviously this is kid is just some underpaid (I hope) idiot that claims to know about car audio... Get yourself a cheap dmm and you'll get it set up right :)

you could always just drive your car to Cargodz - I know he'd get it done right (might be a little more expensive than reading and buying a dmm tho)

^ :p I'll tell ya what... If he drives it all the way here from the San Fernado Valley I'll do it free of charge :D lol

I know the price of gas has gone down, but I'm still willing to bet it might be a little cheaper to buy a dmm from the local hardware store or Harbor Freight

If you have a Harbor Freight Tools nearby they are always putting the lil cheap ones w/ built in batteries on sale for $2.99 (regular like $8) and it will work fine for just about anything you'll need it for automotive wise... Well worth it and at that price you can just buy a new one when the batteries die and don't really care if you damage it :)

Not jackin a thread or anything, but I like Harbor Freight. they have good deals like that all the time.

I think the best thing to do is read the thread that cargodz put up, and then read and study all the quality material out there so you will at least have an idea how to do what you need to do. don't trust just anybody either, I like to think of a stereo system as a little cute puppy or something. Noone is gonna take care of it or know it like you can/do.
