The best one you can afford.

What we need first is a budget, then we can accurately assess which amp to try

it really comes down to what you can afford and getting enough power to that sub. i believe the D6 subs are 600 rms. so you are going to want a quality amp within your price range that will do 600 rms. and that will have to be at either 1ohm or 2ohm, depending on if you have a dual 2ohm sub or a dual 4ohm sub.

^That's crucial... If you have dual 4 ohm voice coils sub then you'll only need a 2ohm stable amp and 1ohm stable for dual 2 ohm... So that will also help us guide you in the proper direction.

Ok so what you're looking for is a good 1ohm stable amp that will provide somewhere between 500-750w rms... Now what's your price range?
Keep in mind also that you may be able to get a decent amp used, but only do so from a trusted seller... If you want a warranty stay away from online auctions and some online stores as a lot of manufacturers do not honor online sales.
Nothin beats dealing with your local (or at least closest) authorized dealer.

I'm thinking around $200.
I just checked out a Diesel Audio amp.. The guy at the store recommended this one among others, it fits my budget.. What do you guys think?

Well I'm not to familiar with Diesel Audio and I can't find much info on that amp as to rms wattage and what they're stable at... I do know that those are the low level line of Diesel and that even the higher levels only seem to be stable at 2 ohms, so you may want to do a lil more digging before buying Diesel.

Thanks for the input. Do you have any other recommendations for something around $200? I don't need the greatest amp, just something that won't overheat. I'm thinking of only running it at around 50-60%..

500-600rms for that sub would definitely work and would not be too expensive. off the top of my head, something like a hifonics bxi608 would work very well. i have no idea of how good diesel audio is, never had any experience with them.
