Well had my eval today.
I got offerred 17 dollars an hour and accepted reluntantly.
I got downstairs and started thinking about how much the other gentlemen at my shop made and they make 17-18 dollars an hour and work first shift.
I work 2nd shift and get a .75 differential for that but he kept including it in the 17 dollars.
I told him I wanted 18 dollars and then on top of that I want my 75 cent differential.
He told me that he didn't want me to quit/leave and he's calling corporate and explaining the case.

I asked for 18 based on the fact that a co-worker of mine is making that and he has ABSOLUTELY no idea whats going on. My boss told me that he was going to lower that persons wage but I told him that had nothing to do with me at this time. I told him I am worth it and we both know that.
Its only 40k/year and I'm use to making 55k/year doing this line of work.

So um yea :)
if worst comes to worst it looks like it'll be 17 or 17.75! which is a big improvement from my 14.75 but if I can get 18.75 pfft I'm going to go for it :sm29:

Well I guess it's a semi good thing about the raise and the fact that at least your boss sees your potential to be worth more... You know his hands may be tied too as far as how much of a raise he can give at one time (which would explain why he'd have to get ahold of higher ups in the company)... So don't displace it quite yet as it is still your 90 day eval and he may be able to do more for you at a 6 month evaluation.

I got the same problem where I work in a sense.

I worked here for months as a contractor. Then they went to hire me in. They put my pay and title as a "CAD Detailer" and tossed in a bunch of extras in the description, such as 3D CAD.

Trouble is I havent done any detailing in over 4-5 months or more now. its all design work, which should pay another $3-5/hr...

Im going to be asking for a rightful raise at the end of a year at current rate.

Since you want to drag this out and get your nose into the situation...

I simply asked him if he would stay a bit more on topic. The problem isnt the posts contents breaking rules, crude, etc. Its more that the content has nothing to do with the threads original content.

Take for example the XXX power handling thread. When someone stops in, asking a question or starts debate- it shouldnt spin wildly off course. Enough said.

If you want to talk about your grandma's uncles' car (or whatever off topic subject) do so in a new thread, not on someones asking about woofer specs.

If you have issues with the way Im handling this board speak up and say it. That goes for any of you.
