Going to need some decent Replacement 12"s

Post by CaptainPioneer »

Ok well I figure around Christmas I will want to buy new subs for my truck... The damn eclipse finally bit the bullet... If I can I want to go with 2 12"s that take 400-800 watts well and can get moderately loud... I liked my eclipse subs because they sounded pretty good and also got pretty loud for the application...

Currently the Subs (Eclipse) were in a sealed box close to 2 cuft each and being powered by my Hifonics Brutus 1605D 1 ohm Configuration 800w per channel...

Perhaps even a nice 15" maybe?? Not sure yet... Im thinking about going to Kicker...
Any thoughts recommendations with prices is always good. Thanks

Jay

yea I think thats the best option... I want to go with a smaller ported box so it doesnt take up too much trunk space in the Camry... The truck I think I might run just 1 12" in it for now sealed and then eventually top ported...

hahah Yea... Gotta keep my car professional looking...

The truck... some day... Blow through... Thats when Bill aka the mad scientist will come into play... 2 15" blow through on that truck will be monsterous

My main goal is to have this new sub be a small ported application so i can retain a lot of space in the trunk... and still also have these 2 things...

#1 Priority... Great Bass... Im talking about shake my damn mirror off bass...
#2 Priority... SQ must be as good if not better than my 2 12" Eclipse subs with hopefully a better high range...

Originally i was goign to go with an Alpine Type x but their DVC config is not what im looking for... I need a Dual 2...

A Bravox BVX Or EDX would also be a good 12 to put in there...
I really liked the way the Kicker L7 12" Sounded... I can only wonder what the 15" is like

Yo Cappy,

I have a Dual 2ohm Focal Sub I might be willing to release for the right price.

Its probably way out of my price range Joe... Thanks though... If Im guessing right the sub u have is no less than $500... I am not looking to spend too too much... If Bill gives me the right price on one of his customs I might go with him... The other option is a 15" Kicker L7 Dual 2 Unless it can take 1600 watts on a 12" Is it the K2 power?

LOL I have a strange feeling 500 is a little higher than joe wants for it.

You might want to talk to him before you say no.

how long has it been since you have heard one?

seriously?

i would bet you 1000 dollars that you could not hear the difference in bass reproduction from a square woofer and a round woofer. you can argue about round sound waves and all that shit all you want bottom line is your not a finely tuned RTA you have flaws in your hearing like everyone else and its definitely not sensitive enough to pick up the subtle difference in sound.
