Car Show

Well guys they had a car show on base today, so I figured I would roll up and check it out.
So I show up, talk to a couple friends, and they talk me into entering the accord.
Keep in mind, my pillars aren't glassed, nothing is tuned (eq or peq) and I have 2 trim panels I still need to make.
So I'm there for about an hour, demo the car for a few people, (they all love it) and then the SPL comp starts.
Turns out the guy running it is a good friend of mine (local select product, and jl / focal dealer), so I pull my car over, and give it a go.
134.4 on music running 5db of gain overlap on my amps (SQ tune). I'm curious what I would have got if I could have retuned my amps (10 or 15db overlap), and played what I wanted (after some testing of course)
Then they did the SQ and install judging.
So here is how I did.
SPL 4th
SQ 1st
Install 1st
Sure thats fine and dandy, but the thing that made my day, peoples reactions to my sound stage.
I had my test cds with me, so the first thing I let everyone here is the live recording from Indianapolis motor speedway. I told them to lay back, close there eyes and just listen to everything going on in front of them, and that an indy car would pass on there right hand side.
EVERY time the car would pass their eyes would light up. They couldn't believe how real it sounded. Then I let some demo some SQ music, and listen for placement, and staging cues, and finished with something with some killer bass.
