Autotek sm 11000 amp

Post by jgs07 »

i was thinking of buying this amp for my cvr 12's which are 4ohm dual voice coiled. but the thing is that this amp will give me 1000 rms at 1ohm but from what ive been reading since my cvrs are 4ohm, if i were to wire them parallel i will only get 2ohm load. is this correct? does this mean i wont get the 1000 watts rms or no matter how i wire them will i still get the 1000 watts rms?

yes you can wire them to 1 ohm.

CVR's are DVC.. if each coil is 4 ohm.. you wire the 2 VC to a 2 ohm load on each sub... then wires the 2 subs together = 1

4 ohm dual voice coil. It will work, but I'm not telling you how.

Check out the Rockford Fosgate woofer wiring wizard.

^ Correct... If you want Autotek power that delivers 1000w rms you need to step up from the Street Macine series to the Super Sport Amps.

Okay, I'm gonna ask what might seem to be a dumb question, but are these in a prefab (sealed or ported) or custom enclosure?
Two reasons I ask is for 1) If you're wanting more out of them and you've got a prefab then you're limiting their ability (a sub is only as good as the box it's in) and 2) if you've got a prefab sealed and you jump to a custom ported, you can stand to gain a lot without even adding more power.

Now as for your question on recommendations for amps with your budget here's what comes to mind off the top of my head:
Autotek SM11000 1000wrms @ 1ohm
Massive P1000.1 1000wrms @ 1 ohm
Hypnotic Z1250.1D 1250wrms @ 1 ohm
this is what u wrote

I have a Autotek 1500 and I'm guessing it will put out about 750 watts rms at 1 ohm. you may want to check it out also. I don't have mine hooked up yet because I'm debating getting another one. But I really like mine, from what I can tell they are well built, and clean. One thing you need to think of though is they are class A/B. Typically a class D mono block will put out more power.

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio ... urerID=657 I found this link, it was the link I used most for comparing amps.
