Ah man, I'm so sorry to hear this.
If there is anything any of us can do, just ask.

Thank you all. I already have a place to stay for as long as I need to. The best part is that my dad will have his job, so no loss of income. At least I am much closer to home than I was in texas. I still have my job too, plus they are giving me $500 because of all of this.
My cousins have been great to us here. We have plenty of food and a 4 bedroom house to live in. Living in the house is almost like camping; plenty of lawn furniture and sleeping bags. Smells like great dane too, but nothing arm and hammer couldn't fix. If we were to stay in a hotel, it would have cost us $3k per month plus food, gas, etc.
None of us were too happy to hear the news earlier, but it's all accepted now. I think I made out the best of my parents and me. My van is high and dry (I'm 90% sure) and my dad's truck has been submerged for about a week. All of my recording equipment, computers, and instruments are in my room on the second story. My mom lost all of our baby pictures and all, but I'm sure we can get many copies from relatives we hope.
The best part is that we get a new house out of it. I think at most we might get $140k from insurance. If we get 140k and only have to rip out the first floor, then we will be well off. After all, my dad needs a new truck too.

Glad to hear you and your family are doing well. Being able to stay somewhere for nothing is a definite plus too. Hope everything works out o.k. w/ the new house and whatnot.

awesome to hear you're taking it well. a lot of people have a hard time taking lifes rough turns like this sometimes. keep your head screwed on straight, many right now dont. like that guy that got interviewed on the news the other day...and i quote "it's all the bush administrations fault. they probably planned all this." what a friggin moron.

:) )
yes, it was a staged natural disaster created by the bush administration

on the otherhand, wasn't the gov't supposed to upgrade the levy?

Yea...the gov't was supposed to do a lot of things...like get the troops out of the middle east...but ppl are still dying over there...and we are trillions of dollars in debt. But if i remember correctly, didnt Clinton get us out of debt? Oh yes he did...thats right and Bush went and F@#%ed it all up.
Also, how long did he wait to go down to NOLA? Too long imho, but who am i to say whats right and whats wrong
