ok, i have decided to revive this, i am finally able to do a little work, i got my daytons removed from the rear so no more rear fill, i received the rainbow tweets from ryan and im playing with placement, i wanted originally to try and set them in the sail panels but i cant seem to get the angle i want on the drivers side one. so i'm gonna play with where i have the temporarily set now. i'm talking to a couple people about some custom wood plates to replace the door pockets on my front doors, and then i can run my daytons, focals, and rainbows in a 3 way setup. i'll let you know how that turns out.

You might want to consider fiberglassing to save money. That way, you can make changes to your positioning later instead of having to pay people to do expensive wood work.cool mr grinch wrote:ok, i have decided to revive this, i am finally able to do a little work, i got my daytons removed from the rear so no more rear fill, i received the rainbow tweets from ryan and im playing with placement, i wanted originally to try and set them in the sail panels but i cant seem to get the angle i want on the drivers side one. so i'm gonna play with where i have the temporarily set now. i'm talking to a couple people about some custom wood plates to replace the door pockets on my front doors, and then i can run my daytons, focals, and rainbows in a 3 way setup. i'll let you know how that turns out.
What models are the Daytons/Focals/Rainbows?

i have to start over since the battery change, and i need a little easier to understand help. 9 dbs hot is 9 dbs louder? and slow roll off mean to lower the dbs slightly? and keeping it flat means 0dbs? and what is an easier way to understand octave?JeremyC wrote:
As for slope try this for starters.
9 dbs hot from 20 to 63 hertz. Slow roll off from 63 to 200 and then keep it flat to 3k. Above 3K roll it off at 3 db an octave. Thats a real good starter SQ tune. If you want something even more SQ based Drop from 9 to 6 dbs hot on the subs and change your roll off to 2 db an octave above 3K. The second will seem more in your face with the front stage. The first is pretty tame all around great sounding tune.
here is my starting point, am i even close to what your saying?

i have made no eq adjustments yet, thats what i was playing with online last night just to get an idea of if i was on the right track.JeremyC wrote:Yeah dude 9 DBs hot is exactly that. Just 9DBs above your 0 DB line.
An octave is a doubling of freq.
20 to 40
40 to 80
80 to 160
160 to 320
320 to 640
640 to 1280
And so one all the way to 20K
Is the sweep you posted before or after you made any EQ adjustments?
i would like the bass to blend with the music, not just in the trunk.
