okay, new plan. moneys finally tight because of my recent car troubles, and im now thinking of using my ol kicker kx350.4 to power some kicker ssmb8's (for 130 shipped) or some of dd's 6.5 mids. would these work well in an IB in my rear deck crossed over between 200-80 Hz? this would save me from buying an amp and crossover. i could use my amps low pass at 200 Hz and my hu's highpass at 80.

p.s. dd emailed me back. $97 for those 6.5" drivers.

You could try the Extremis or go with a 7" or 8" Dayton Ref or Peerless HDS/SLS driver.

Edit: I don't have time to read through the thread, but I read the first page and you were talking about midbass drivers in the rear. That can pull your soundstage towards the back, but shouldn't mess with your imaging.

this is an old thread.

but i will be adding a pair of ssmb6 drivers in my front doors with a zx350.2 and a kx2 crossover to bandpass, as well as proper deadening. this should happen in the next few weeks or so, since i just started work again yesterday.

oh, and while reaing above, i did find out those dd drivers were 97 EACH
