great! now my headunit is broken!

I spliced from the head unit to the circulation air thingy wire. should i be splicing from one of the harnesses? I didn't even loop the wire, used the ACC wire coming directly out of the head unit and slpiced it right into the air circulation wire thingy.

thats the right ticket... U can do that... if its not your ACC wire it might be the power wire or the ground... Its a process of elimination and its a bitch... Unless u get a multitool to check to see if their is any power going through the lines...

This makes no sense... the fuse diagram online says that my radio is a 7.5 fuse... so i checked every 7.5 fuse and everyone of them is not blown. i had to replace my backup fuse under my hood though, but still no power to my head unit. anyone have any ideas?

Try swapping them around with each other (or really just the one for the head unit with another one).

put a 10a fuse in place of its 7.5a and still no power

Take the radio out of the car. Pop the hood.

Put the ground on the batteries ground, put the yellow and the red on the batteries positive.

If your radio does not work at that point, its messed up or blown fuse...?

head unit works, i did that a few times already. my backup fuse under my hood was blown, a 7.5a fuse. i replaced that, the fuses under the drivers side are all at least in working condition. i need to get a volt meter i guess to check my acc, power and ground wire feeds i guess. i dont know how to use a volt meter, is there anything to it? also what else could my problem be if its not the fuses, just the wire leads? I'm 100% its NOT the head unit.

Unless you messed up the ground somehow.

Try putting the 12VS and 12VC on the harness and striking the ground on something close by just to see if that it...

I'd have wired it up to a direct 12V, ignition lead (ACC), and ground and called it a day by now
