Yeah IRRC the Brits went in there and divided things up, really screwing up ethnic and cultural boundaries. The Iraqi Kurds probably SHOULD have their own country, but that would scare the hell out of Turkey which has a sizeable Kurdish population of its own to deal with.

the reason i said that was because i vaguely remeber this but when the religion was founded they took over some land of the jews...or something.. so from the start they were stirring up shit.
