well, i think i can figure it out. as long as that math up there is correct then i shouldnt have a problem setting the gain with the dmm im going to buy tomorrow. ive watched videos now and understand exactly how to do it. i just need to make sure that im setting it to the right level, thats all.

I still disagree with setting the amps via that method but whatever floats your boat.

well im only setting the gain this way i will fine tune differently. but is that math correct?

If you followed the directions it should be correct then.

do you factor into the math how many subs you have, or does it not matter since it is separated by 2 different channels?

Your load is your final load. that means the amount of subs doesnt matter as long as its factored into your load.

The final value you found is what you adjust your gain to until you see that voltage number on your DMM.

so even tho im powering 2 subs into the amp, both at four ohms, its still 220 rms x 4 ohms, then square root of that. correct??

i will tell you guys how it went when i do this tomorrow. thanks for all the help along the way. this should have been done a long time ago.
