Thats a waste of $40. You have absolutely NO need for 8ga speaker wire.

I would go for the box with the slot port on the end first.

Are you handy with a circular saw?

If so build your own. Its fairly easy. Just need a fence and two c clamps!

i run 8ga now, its just stiff wire, i would rather over do it than under do it with wiring, thats why i went overboard with my amp power wire. i found some 8ga oxyfree superflex 25ft for 20.00 shipped, and its jacketed so it will be nice and clean.

and why would i need a fence? and i dont have any c-clamps.

A fence gives you a guide, the c-clamps hold the fence/guide down. It give you really straight cuts, which is what you need for a good solid box.

If you have any custom cabinet shops or any custom furniture shops close by,they might be able/willing to cut some mdf for you.

Well if you can make friends with an employee at Lowes/Hope Depot that can actually cut wood properly on the panel saw- you could pull a box out of there.

Usually if you tell them you would like to line the saw cuts up they will let you. They just have to physically run the saw.

That's pretty funny... a fence!

I'm pretty sure Lowe's only guarantee's their cuts to be within a 1/4". My buddy works there and that's what he told me, and to be perfectly honest I doubt he could even get it that close. :D

Thats two fold reason.

1) Its been my experience most employees are lucky to know what an 1/8" is

2) The ruler on the actual SAW is rarely accurate. You need to us a tape measure in on the blade, with the correct pitched tooth to get accurate cuts.

i got the side slot prefab box, can you guys tell me what the port should be compared to what it is? box is 3.29 cu.ft. single chamber. slot is 12.5 inside wall, 15.25 outside wall, 12.75 height, 3.25 width. if i need to make it smaller i have some wood pieces i can use, if i need to make it deeper im sure i can add a small wall, if i need to make it bigger overall, im screwed.

I don't get what you're asking.

Are you asking what is the box tuned to?

You can add wood to make the box volume smaller, but that's going lower the tuning.
