Yeah, you put those suckers in a proper vented enclosure and trust me (and everyone else) those subs will lay the ****in' hurt down.

yep me too. About the only time I do a two chamber box is if the owner is gonna be using two amps. Otherwise a common chamber box has always done me just fine.

I also agree with Ryan It looks like you got it set around 250 hz. That is bad high for subs. I wouldnt go much past around the 80 hz mark. Which is probably gonna be about a third of the way. At the 250 hz mark, you aint gettin much sub bass if any.

audiobass10 wrote:If I were you i'd go ported. I have experience with the SE's and they really shine in a ported box. Sound great as well. I'd say 3 cubes @ 32-36hz and you'll be in love.
nevermind, i reread my own posts, still looking for a ported box.

I'm finally gonna update this, i found a larger sealed box, it has .89 cuf per chamber before the subs installed. i had to increase the mounting holes by an 1/8th inch to fit the RE's. the bass sounds better, cleaner and a bit more powerful these SE 10's seem to like more airspace, so i will probably go ahead and get a ported box and at least try it. i just want to be sure the harder bass isnt distortion, it sure feels more solid!

I always just use the wal-mart stuff... Works good and it's a lot cheaper!

Personally, I'd go with a larger box, ported, seet the LPF to 60-80Hz, ISF @ the port tuned freq, Q @ 18dB, gain no higher than 1/4 up from minimum, phase @ 0, and fire the subs toward the rear of the trunk. Set boost @ 0 as well, as noted already.
That should give you about the best response short of going to a 4th order box for the two tens for more output.
Don't put too much stock in a "flat response" with a sealed box. Most people really don't want a flat curve anyway, unless they are being scored for a C weighted curve accuracy @ a competition.
Most people want a boosted bass response to compensate at elast, for the human hearing's lack of sensitivity to low frequencies.
You want a raised bass response curve. Ported boxes are your friend.
Do not fear them! Come to the dark side!

i know that you guys do not like ebay or pre-fab boxes, but due to the fact i'm pretty far away from you guys and shipping would be horrendous for a custom box, and i dont know or trust anybody around here i need to work with cheap pre-fab boxes and ebay has the best prices and at least it will be a start for testing to see what i like better sound wise, so if you could please let me know which one would be better to try out of the 3???
