Thanks for the quick reply! :)

Yeah I'm looking for a very loud sub but with acceptable SQ for a daily driver, and at lower volume aswell.

Bill has suggested a Shocker Extreme 15", what do u guys think??

A guy on ecoustics with 2837posts said: 'a shocker xtreme would be comparable a DD3500 series, i'd say in a good box with plenty of power easily do low 140's'.

EDIT: Just seen this swimmerdude - http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=209426

oh yea.... that Execution is a gen2. Good woofers, but the ones Bill can sell for cheap are the gen3's.... overall it is a little bit of a better sub.

I have no idea what that Shocker can do.... so no input from me on that. All i can say is that MT's and BTL's are used a lot for loud daily setups. But for more sq out of the sub, i would go with a Execution. And Bill tested out a gen3 ex vs. a fully loaded BTL and the ex was slightly louder with the power you want to give it. Bill got a 12" gen3 ex to do a 146? with around 4k to it. With my 15" gen3 ex, i do 142's with 1.5k and i know it can get louder with the new box i have been waiting to put in.

Shocker's were quite a heavy hitter about a decade ago, so If you can find one in good shape used... it'll serve your needs well :)

Okay Bill I'll give ya credit on this one... even if when Shockers were some of the hardest hitters on the planet, you were watching your first pube grow :p

That's cause you were talking about a $750 budget...
When you account for the sub, amp, wiring, box, possibly new alt, and batteries... it would take you well over that $750 with the Series 3 Executions Bill has.

The $750 I mentioned is for sub(s) and enclosure alone! I have money for the rest of the system. :)

How much power would I need for an Execution gen.2 or 3???

I've just been recommened:
1 15" HD3 and one 2500d
2 DD1008s off of 400 rms each have hit mid 140s in the right box of course
