The big3 only needs to be done in 4gauge, dont worry about spending the money for 1/0. Basically, you just need to locate the wires and it should be hard. And when you do it, keep the factory wires in there and add the 4gauge.chodecz wrote:Lol, thanks for the feedback guys. Didn't think anyone noticed this older thread. With that said, I am still on the hunt for a class D amp!
I hooked up two Kicker KX600.1 amps to my lil' car, and the lights dont dim too badly on full wack,, and for normal listening it's fine. I don't care about listening with the engine off, the effort and funds I'd have to put in to listen with it off ain't worth it for me.
I have standard BIG 3, what gauge do you guys recommend, 1/0?? Could I get away with 4 gauge? How easy is it to do? Is it just a matter of locating the standard cables, replacing them and fitting bigger ring terminals??
...So anyway 1200wrms is my limit really. I do like the Hifonics bxi1206d, cheap price and Bill rates them better than the older Hifonics stuff. Autotek is too rare. So I'll wait for a decent bxi 2nd hand on eBay (cheapskate I am :P).
And yes, these past few years of Hifonics stuff has been really good. Very reliable amps that will do their rated power.
