Yeah I always had central air in my house but we had a window A/C box up at our cottage that we had in storage and when I picked it up I was SHOCKED at how heavy those things are. Plus they are big so it takes some work to move them around.

You are lucky you could handle that 170lbs beast by yourself without dropping it out the window or something while trying to install the bracket. The one I lifted was not close to 170 but I bet it was like 80 or so. I don't even know if I could lift 170lbs being that I am sure the thing was HUGE!

The packaging probably was 25 Lbs

I really feel sorry for everyone that is enduring the heat. I'm from New Orleans, LA and now living in Austin, TX, so the heat is no worse (for me) than it's ever been :) .

Especially this new house I just bought in Round Rock, TX. It's super insulated and all appliances are gas. I can keep it 70degrees all day in here and only have a $250 elec. bill per/month.

We have all electric and keep the a.c set around 68 and our electric bill only runs about 90-100 a month... Of course its only around 1200 sqft

I remember when I was 12-13 my sisters sufire got hot and cracked the head, I changed it all by myself in our drive under the supervision of a chilton manual... Of course growing up all I ever did was work on cars with my uncles...

Jesus, that's it???

Our A/C is set at 77-78 and ours is usually $300 a month. But then again, we have a 2400 square foot house.

Yeah, it runs pretty cheap...

We averaged upper 90's over the last month or so with some days being 105+... Did I mention that the humidity was around 90+ % most of the time?

For the rest of the week its surpose to be in the mid 90's with rain showers, that means super duper humid....

Usually we get crazy hot summers and really cold winters, although last winter was pretty mild.... I'm hoping we get a butt load of snow this year.... :happy055:
