dual 2ohm can be wired to either 1ohm or 4ohm. dual 4ohm can be wired to either 2ohm or 8ohm. I really just depends on the amp you want.

um...ok well i am really looking at a single 12 type R. so with that, i want a good amp to push it. seeing that i know nothing about RMS and Max and Ohms and what not, :help:

What you want to do is match a subs rms to the amps rms at the ohm the sub will be wired at. RMS on subs is a rating that the means how man watts the sub can countinuously handle. Ohm ratings on amps are used to refer to how much the amp will push out at a certain ohm load.
For a Type R, look into amps like a Kicker kx600.1, jbl gto600.1(i think that is the model), maybe hifonics bxi606d(this would be the cheaper route). If the amps say they will do 600rms at 2ohm, you will want a dual 4ohm sub. If the amp says it will do 600rms at 1ohm, you will want a dual 2ohm sub.
Ya'll can laugh!!!!

Hey man I know from expereience that you can make pyramid hit pretty damn hard.....If you tune them right and get everything setup you will have a nice system......You can't mock something unless you have done the math with them.....I have built many many systems with well you could say garbage and got a quality system out of it....He said he wanted to spend around 500 so I told him what I thought and kept him at this price.....Think he has to put a whole system together just not subs and amps........Maybe you should check out DEI.....They are moderate cheap and have some nice specs to them.....You can really work them....
