Wow!!! My cable company just upped our bandwidth again!!! from 9 to 12 Mb! I can now download at 1.5 MB/s :) They didn't change the upload speed which is 1000 Mb or 129 KB/s

DSL has a lsight advantage over cable in that you get your own line.. cable is only good until you end up with half your neighbor hood on it, then its shared between all people. although i've never had any problems with cable. its a shame comcast/@home didn't offer 5mbps down back when i first got cable.

edit: horribly offtopic, i know.

geeze I wish they would up the speeds here for my DSL still have the 1.5 service.

If it's even an option for me to upgrade, I have to pay more for it. Not getting any free upgrades like William.

That's the best thing about DSL. I loved my DSL, but it just wasn't fast enough.

Cable used to be pretty crappy when it was first introduced and the following year or two, but today, I've had really good luck with it. I've never found any bandwidth problems in my neighborhood.

I wish fiber was in our area, but I live out in the sticks so it will be a long time before that ever gets here :(

The fiber optic lines are only in major cities right now, mine isn't one of them :(
