I can see what Bill is talking about and also why I elaborated with this statement:
cargodz wrote: 1) Make sure you're running proper wiring to support the system (including the big 3), 2) Make sure you have enough reserve capacity with your battery(s), 3) Make sure you are creating enough power by having a large enough alt.
And also why I wrote the how to on amp install and setting gains... If people decide NOT to read directions then a sub turned paperweight is on them...
Also, whenever anyone asks me about larger DC sub(s) purchase I ask what other equipment they are running or planning and their electrical setup along with suggestions.

Michael just be careful what you say, i know exactly what your saying but the problem is when one blows up and he gets a call its gonna be well the dealer said it can handle 1500rms and that's gonna be the end of it. Your not gonna get a chance to say well he didn't set his amp right or he didn't do this. also in your last post you said if people choose NOT to read the directions its there fault, Well the directions also state 1000rms not 1500rms.

Terry i can barely tell what the hell your talking about.

However quoting actual numbers and telling someone as a rep for that company that almost double the RMS is ok is a far cry from saying you should be ok. you can pick this apart and make it whatever you want i really don't give a shit.

Mike, if you were pointing out the fact that you make sure to suggest proper subs to customers because of my post, I wasn't insinuating that you or anyone here would do any different. I just posted this part "I like it when people tell me the truth rather then tell me what they think I want to hear." because I'm personally running in to it at the places I've been checking out.

I hope nobody thought I was being a dickhead.

No it was not do to your post or implying that you don't (or anyone) doesn't know what they're doing (it's just that many don't).
And Bill, when I was referring to "directions", I was talking about the fact that "Good" amps give you instructions as to proper install and a "Good" authorized dealer will give you proper direction on installing your own set up to run optimum performance without risk. Nearly all equipment is Not warrantied if improperly installed even if you are running only half the recommended rms... Basically I'm not saying that it is safe to run sub(s) or amps at any numbers that have not been properly installed.
