I wouldnt pay more than blue book for it. The guy wont be able to sell it for more than that, he might get blue book IF lucky.

I checked kelly's blue book for a 96 ranger, 2.3, 5 speed, 2wd, average options and in good condition with 150,000 miles they blue book for $2,085 for private party.

yea I looked at the truck last night and the Blue book... You are right...

It has 102k miles on it and has everything my truck doesnt have except 4wd.


BTW i checked its not a new motor... It had a new clutch put in at 75k and new belts, drums, rotors, and some other stuff... Oh yea AC was just recently recharged...

Has A/C and Cruise Control, and Tinted windows... I'll offer him 2k and probably end up getting it for $2,300

Its the right range and there is nothing that I have seen in my area with this low of milage and body looks for that range... Plus the guy is kinda anal retentive so everything is immaculate in the truck right down to the engine compartment...

Joe could you help me out on the box design you were saying... some how by putting the box in the rear cap portion and venting through the window? Im curious how it will sound if I just stick it back there without any type of channel... Probably a crap load of vibrations I would think...

I dont think joe posted in the thread Cargodz did though. all you really have to do is pull the windows get a rv boot and build the box around the window. no real big deal.

Remember that the bed floor is higher up than the cab floor, so what you see from the inside is not what you get. I don't belive that you can get a hole much more then 10" tall. I'd say I could do my idea in a day with the help of couple friends, it's not that hard.

Hmmm... Yea I hear ya... I just have really bad luck with glass and removing it or putting it back in... Don't ask....

For sure this is going to be a problem for me as far as this goes... I really would like to throw my subs in this truck.

There are also some other things to consider as well.

1. The Alt on this truck is tiny!! Smaller than my Ram (And I thought it could get no smaller)
2. I have no experience with Ford Trucks or really fords of any kind, so this is all new to me.

3. Maybe I should just try to do an Sq truck and throw an 8" in a small box behind the seat? Now maybe Joe can weigh in on that? This might be more feasible for me and would take less modification of the trucks structural components.

What do you think about the idea of an SQ truck instead? I could easily do some 8" or 6.5" mids in the doors and throw a comp set in and eliminate the rear speakers. It could be done.

I think as this thread has progressed I've moved further and further away from the idea of utilizing my 12" subs... I will save them for the Camry build I guess.
