Theres different levels. But its usually when the speaker is outside the magnetic gap and starts to move in a non-linear motion. It makes a nice pop noise usually... lol

Is this a result of overpowering the speaker. is it safe to assume that all speakers, whatever the size are subject to this??

so i need some guidance, i'm at a toss up between the kicker cvx 10 and the re audio se 10?

I have always liked Kicker, but in this case I personally would go with the RE Audio. If I am correct they are comparable subs but the Re just looks better built to me, and I also just like the overall look of it better than the kicker.

i got my trunk matted and reassembled everything is hooked up sounds excellent, Except the bass, it just doesnt have the power it used to have? hopefully the new re se10s will help? any ideas?

I can remember one of the guys here at CAC posted that he once matted his trunk or vehicle only to rip it back out because it took away some of the SPL he was after.

Don't know the whole story or specifics. I just remember reading something like that.

i was having this issue before the dampening in the trunk, i replaced my complete audio system except my subs, but new subs are on the way.

i just ran imprint once and i'm running it a second time to play with adjustments.

Update!!

i ran the alpine imprint software twice and my bass is back, and clean, but i have a couple questions? what is the difference between reference and linear? i get 3 options to program 2 memory slots in my head unit, one is reference, reference with midrange(which sounds terrible IMO) and linear? and the tripod microphone, should it be set at ear height? or does it matter? i thought speaker timing was calculated by distance from ear area to each speaker? i dont think its right, i had to set it on the seat at ass level.
