Wouldn't that overpower the sub though? 1000w rms into a 700w rms sub.

just cause you have it doesn't mean you have to use it.

Isn't that sub designed for a 1.50 cu. ft. sealed box? What would the advantage of a ported box for that be?

Just because the manufacture recommends something doesn't mean that's exactly what it goes in. Those specs are just starting points. A ported box can often give you a flatter response or can bump a certain frequency range. A ported box also increases output substantially.

I listen to mainly hard rock, rock and occasional country. Little to no hip hop or rap. Would sealed or ported be best? I have always thought that sealed was better for the styles of music I listen to. Due to a quicker response time in a sealed enclosure. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to steer away from ported. I'm just trying to figure all this stuff out so I can learn more about this stuff.

I guess response time isn't really what I meant. More like kick drum sound response. Won't the sealed box make the kick drum sound more crisp and authentic than a ported? Or would it be the other way around? Or no noticeable difference at all?

Depends on how the box is designed. there is not audible difference between sealed and ported if designed properly.

I'm gonna have to do some thinking on this.

I know if I go a single 15" ported. There will be no room for future expansion in my trunk due to box size compared to trunk size. Or could you use 2 15's in the same ported box as you would use 1 15 in. Or would 2 subs in a ported need double the space as 1? As I would like to have at least half of my trunk as usable space as I have a family so I will need to use the trunk a lot.

What about either running dual RWE-304 12's in a 1.085 cu. ft. dual sealed box ( 14 x 14 x 13.5 for each chamber external dimension ) or dual RWE-354 15's in a 1.643 cu. ft. dual sealed box ( 16 x 16 x 15 for each chamber external dimension ). Both wired at 1Ω load.

I know I won't be using their full potential in that configuration. But I am thinking of space.

Don't mind my ramblings. I am just trying to explore all possible routes I can go. And maybe learn a little in the process.
